smoothies

the kids asked me to get a nutribullet last year – and i have only just tried it out;  i was convinced that juicing was the more nutritious way to go, but after making a few smoothies, i couldn’t believe how easy it was to clean the machine afterwards!  it really is much quicker and saves you time!  here are a few simple recipes that i have tried which taste pretty delicious and SO easy to make – you literally throw it all in the pot and turn it on.

matcha green tea by rebel kitchen,   frozen banana, kale, chia seeds – its a good way to use up bananas that have gone too ripe, break them into sandwich bags and freeze them, and use them for your smoothies.

almond milk, chia seeds, vanilla essence, banana, grated lime and a sprinkle of  cinammon

rice milk, avocado, chia seeds, fresh kiwi, grated lime, vanilla essence – i find that the vanilla essence just sweetens it slightly.

anyhow, happy blending – its a perfect way to start the day if you are in a rush and dont have time for breakfast – adding a handful of oats gives you even more slow release nutrition. i have now decided though to juice one day, blend the next, that way i dont feel that i have wasted money on all these damn devices……….
