vintage finds

its always the case, you spend all your money on structural stuff, plumbing and electrics and end up with very little budget to furnish your place – so its taken imagination, and scouring of charity and junk shops to furnish and add that homely feel to the suffolk cottage – which we have called lime tree cottage, as there happens to be 2 lime trees in the front garden.   i have visited the charity and antique shops in saxmundham, southwold and framlingham – lots of lovely vintage glasses and jugs and plates;  marlesford antiques and yoxford have been a godsend too – and so much cheaper than kempton market.  here are a few of my finds, from table, to chairs, shelf unit and kitchen accessories.

  1. The cottage looks lovely!, may I ask whether the floors are a slate tile? I’m trying to do my kitchen at the moment and your floor looks a good balance between rustic and modern.
