dutch artists in the age of vermeer

i visited the Queens Galleries for the first time, to catch the painters of the time of the renowned painter Vermeer.  We all know Vermeer’s works, but know very little of the other painters of his time.  there was actually only one vermeer painting, but it was great to see other pieces such as Gerrit Dou, a girl chopping onions and Jan Steen, a woman at her toilet.   the good thing about visiting the gallery is that once you pay your entrance fee, you can revisit for free for a year.  the show has now ended but its always worth looking out for the next show.
