haberdashery cafe

went to meet a friend in the haberdashery cafe in crouch end – i forgot how lovely it is  serving simple home made food and cakes – i love the way the muffins and individual bread rolls are baked in a clay plant pot holder!  its a cottage/hut style interior, painted boarding provide wall space for local artists to display their work, rows of metal hooks house the vintage tea cups and saucers to drink your tea from.   you can also buy a few crafts and an assortment of tea cups and saucers.  they also hold a community morning on the first friday of each month, where artisans and vintage sellers come together to sell their wares .   what a lovely idea to promote artists in the local area.  we need one of these in camden, where there are so many chain cafes – the best of the non chains are coffee jar, falla and mocaer, and yum cha.  my favourite place for brunch on a sunday is market – strangely all positioned on Parkway.
