spent another sunday exploring the suffolk coast, this time our first stop was orford – a lovely little town with its own castle and nature reserve, its perfect for walking, sailing and smoked salmon!  pop into Pinney’s for a variety of fish. close by we passed snape maltings and popped in to find a complex of shops, cafes and concert hall!  the wonderful buildings were originally used for malting of barley, but by the 1960’s this ceased to happen;  fortunately they were taken over by the Gooderham family and turned into a classical concert hall and gradually into shops.  we continued onto the very pretty village of walberswick, a short walk to the sandy beach with its natural marshes.  you can take a ferry across to nearby southwold. such a lot of pretty towns along the coast, suffolk is definitely a place to explore.
