falmouth

there is always so much to see in cornwall. .falmouth is a big student town but  i love its position on the estuary;  there are  lots of independent shops, obviously aiming at students, so quite affordable.   there are lots of vintage clothes shops, art galleries, bakeries and gift shops.   my favourite little shop is folklore a co operative of artists selling hand woven baskets, hand made pots and hand carved spoons – i managed to buy a cornish alpaca jumper hand made by Fe Hill;  next door is toro, plants and flowers beautifully arranged.  Jam is a great little cafe selling records and coffee in a retro surroundings.  next door you can buy the best sourdough bread from stones bakery.   willow and stone has a good selection of door handles and home accessories.  we ate delicious lunch in the patio garden of the lookout. falmouth reminds me of hastings and fowey – its definitely one of those towns that i will explore over and over again. falmouth31Jul2014_0260   falmouth31Jul2014_0271 falmouth31Jul2014_0272 31Jul2014_0275 31Jul2014_0277
