two of my favourite things in one shop – paper and tea is clean and simply designed and i wanted everything in there! from fine teas from around the world, beautiful teapots and tea vessels and notebooks and cards. they also do tea seminars for those enthusiasts who want to learn everything about tea making. berlin seems to have quite a few design led shops, lots of scandinavian inspired goods – a bit like skandium. KaDeWe is berlin’s famous department store that has everything and is a good place to visit if you dont want to trawl all around the shops bikini is a ‘shopping centre’ but full of pop up independent brands too – a bit like box park, but on a couple of levels – go to the rooftop for great views into the neighbouring zoo and watch the monkeys. adjoining the centre is a super trendy hotel, 25 hours, but at the very top is a rooftop restaurant, which is not a bad place to stop for tea and a bite to eat – especially if the weather is warm. another shop that we discovered is hut up, beautifully made felt wool clothes and bags – the technique is unique and unusual – the wedding dresses are just gorgeous and so individual. i wouldn’t say that berlin is a destination for shopping, more for the street cafe life and bars and galleries, but the shops are definitely worth a visit.
