there seems to be a fashion for viennese tea in london – i finally ate dinner at Fischers in marylebone – the herring starters are very tasty, as well as the strudels for pudding – apparently schnitzels are the tasty thing to choose. breakfast is a good time to go and experience the atmosphere – the cakes are beautifully made with incredible detail to thin layers. another viennese cafe , kipferl has opened in golborne road, funnily enough next door to a swedish cafe, snaps +rye. i love going to golborne road on a saturday – it has that right mix of ethnic, vintage and real amenities. portobello and golborne road are the best places to find affordable tea things – i always manage to buy a few presents there for friends who seem to have absolutely everything! recently i bought a beautiful victorian sugar spoon with a mother of pearl handle. loving this dresser of Marielle’s, with her collection of teapots and glass wear.
