guy bourdin

went to see the guy bourdin exhibition at somerset house – to be honest its not the kind of photography i like, but i really appreciate that he was ahead of his time and the inspiration behind a lot of modern day photographers, including Juergen Teller.  since his biggest client was charles jourdan, the shoe maker, for many years, a lot of his photos are his experiments and work done showing the shoes – it really made me wonder how he set those artificial legs up in his photos in a time when digital photography was not available – his photos are very 1970’s , glossy, girls with shiny make up, wearing leotards……. i remember when leotards were the fashion of nightclubs – how i wore mine with my spandex leggings makes me shudder…..

always love the eggs and sourdough toast at fernandez and wells – basically a posh fried eggs on toast!
