if you are looking for things to do or last minute presents then you must go to see edward scissorhands at the sadlers wells – claudia and i took the girls there this week and it really sets you into the festive mood – the sets and costumes take you into a realm of make believe – though i did shed a tear at the end – a modern day fable, edward scissorhands is perfect for all ages. if you take one child under 16, you can buy a family ticket, which basically gives you 4 tickets for the price of 3. for younger children though i would recommend the hackney empire pantomime, this year its mother goose – which i do hope to go to before it ends in early january – you are never too old for a pantomime. i also notice that secret cinema is on tomorrow sunday – this is more for the older kids and adults and is an experience well worth doing.
by the way, ernest wright and son have been making scissors for over 100 years – how beautiful to own a lovely pair – there is something so classic about the design for scissors, and such essential items. merchant and mills also have lovely scissors, in fact everything for the maker.
