south bank

what  beautiful weather we had this weekend – we had to drop alfie at the globe theatre, so took a walk along the river –  you could start at the festival hall and walk down to tate modern – there is so much to see and do.  have a look at the  restaurant skylon at the royal festival hall with its fantastic views overlooking the river.  watch the skateboarders and bikers doing their tricks – there is even a designated space to spray your grafitti.  pick up a second hand book, and then make your way along the river, stopping at gabriel’s wharf for a drink.  stop by Ganesha for some beautiful hand embroidered indian throws, much cheaper than the ones that you find in the conran shop. go and see matisse at tate modern .  if you really want to make a long day trip out, carry on to borough market and eat at one of the great places there – remember that the market is only open from weds to sat until 5pm, but some of the restaurants are open all week – i ended with a delicious ice cream from gelato – got to be the best tasting ice cream in london.  maybe commence at borough market and end up at the south bank?   it really is an amazing day out.
