i have just discovered boma in kentish town – usually i am a big fan of columbia road market, but for essential stuff like bags of earth and big pots, it doesnt make sense to drag your stuff to your car from a busy market, when boma has its own parking spaces, lovely helpful and knowledgeable staff and a good selection of seasonal plants. i was introduced to it by st john the gardener, who lovingly keeps my small garden in check. by the way, st john is hosting a special one night special of poetry and music this saturday.
i think its amazing that small businesses like boma still function in residential areas, especially where rents must be extremely high – we need to support these essential things.
i love my flowers that i bought from carl at columbia market, the lilac bruised roses sit beautifully with the blue thistle and the dried hydrangea that came from my garden pot – you will find tons of dried hydrangeas for sale at the moment, the colours are constantly changing as they are drying out.
