kings cross has really cleaned itself up – the forecourt of st martin’s has become the new somerset house, and close by you have the numerous food vans of eat street – you will also see the odd van closer to st martins. you also have kings place with its riverside cafe. and now there is the filling station - i havent actually eaten in the restaurant, but you can pop by and sit by the canal and have coffee and a slice of pizza. conveniently for me, its all within 15 mins walking from my front door. i was utterly amazed to find the javelin train so fast – from st pancras to stratford took 6 minutes – it makes going east so much easier and more civilised, though stepping into the westfield shopping centre sent shivers down my spine. annoyingly making you walk through a shopping centre to get to the olympic village is a drawback.
