pip and i took the girls for a holiday treat to see their favourite play – abigails party. strangely, maude has loved this mike leigh play for a long time, watching the video over and over again. it wasnt disappointing – we were all in stitches, and loved Angela’s character the best. we managed to get pretty good seats at a reduced price too; it was a good theatre introduction for teenage girls. we combined it with a trip to koya, our favourite japanese noodle restaurant in frith street – tasty, but long queues and a long wait for the food, but if you are just catching up and chatting then its fine. try the cold soba noodles with tempura, just what you need in this hot weather. also sitting at the bar watching the handsome young chefs is always a treat too.

That is such a coincidence, i am seeing it on saturday with a schoolfriend from Paris.
I have always been a fan of Mike Leigh for his observations.when i came to London as a teenager i worked in a restaurant to finance my studies and he was a regular coming then with his wife Alison Steadman, they were the most genuine people, very discreet almost shy and taught me a lots of english expressions…i think that I know this play almost by heart…saw it first time art the old Hampstead theatre..
I would happily be the understudy for BEv…..xxxxx bonnes vacances
