san miguel de allende

if you are thinking ahead to holidays for the winter, then put San Miguel de Allende high on your list;  this ochred colonial spanish town is charming and cultured.  its a 3 hour bus ride from Mexico City.

we travelled with Journey Latin America, who organised our trip immaculately – what could have been a big organising headache,  turned out to be a dream trip.  read more about our holiday.

a must on your list of things to do in mexico city is a ride on the boats of xochomilcho; at the weekend, local families rent one of the colourful boats, eat their lunch that they buy from the floating cafes,  buy their plants and are serenaded by the wonderful mariachis, who float up and down the waters.  its such a colourful and wondrous experience.
